Product safety: manufacturer details directly on the product page
Every product page in the shop now has a “Product safety” section with the manufacturer, contact address, product identifier and warnings – as required by the EU General Product Safety Regulation.
The problem
Under the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), online offers must state the manufacturer’s name, postal address and email address, together with information that allows the product to be identified and any warnings or safety information. Until now, the shop did not show this information together on the product page, and the panel had no fields for a manufacturer other than the offering company.
The solution
In the panel, the product’s “Proofs & compliance” tab now has fields for the manufacturer (name, postal address, email address), for type or model and for batch or serial number. If your company makes the product itself, leave the manufacturer fields empty – the shop then shows your company details. You only need a responsible person in the EU if the manufacturer is based outside the EU. Buyers find all the details on the product page in the “Product safety” section and in the digital product passport.
